1. What is BLS course?
Basic Life Support (BLS) is an American Heart Association course which is now made mandatory for most of the health care professionals and other employees.

This course prepares to act promptly and effectively in an episode of Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Arrest and Choking.

This course is intended for health care providers involved in direct patient care, either in or out of hospital.

Duration of the BLS course is ONE DAY from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants are given certificate and card which are globally valid for 2 years.

2. What is the course duration?
1 day from 9 am to 4 pm.
3. Who are the instructors?

4. What is the course fee?

The course fee is Rs3500 which is inclusive of course materials and GST.

5. Will I get any course materials like books?

BLS course participants are provided with original BLS provider manual.

6. What do you teach in BLS?
I. Adult BLS

– Adult chain of survival

– Scene safety and Assessment

– Chest Compressions.

– Ventilation

– 1 Rescuer adult CPR

– AED and AMBU bag

– 2 Rescuer adult CPR

II. Child BLS.

– Pediatric Chain of survival

– Child compressions

– Ventilation

– 2 Rescuer Child CPR

III. Infant BLS

– Infant compressions

· Ventilation

– 2 Rescuer Infant CPR

IV. Respiratory Arrest and rescue breathing

7. Will I get to practice giving CPR?
Yes. BLS emphasis on practical skill development.Charles Institute is dedicated to ensure quality training, with advanced medical equipment. Equipment which is used for BLS course includes CPR manikins with quality indicator, AED trainers, Pocket mask, AMBU bag etc.Yes. 8. When I will get my certificate?

A printed certificate will be ready in 2 working days after the successful completion of the course. Also, candidates can download pdf from the AHA website on the same day itself. Downloadable pdf will be available on the AHA website forever.

9. How long the certificate is valid for?

2 years

10. Can I renew my certificate without attending the course?

No. You have to undergo the entire course; however, a discount of Rs 1500 will be applicable as you have the books already.

11. How to become a certified BLS instructor?
Indented candidates should have IP (Instructor Potential), which is eligibility to become an instructor. You are evaluated for IP, based on your performance during the course. After having obtained an IP, you will need to attend an instructor course to become an instructor.

Instructor card will be issued only after completing a required number of course monitoring, usually 2 or 3.
