The American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider Course is delivered using the HeartCode® BLS Blended Learning format. Complete the online theory at your own pace, then attend a 2.5-hour instructor-led classroom skills session to demonstrate your practical skills.
Upon successful completion of both the online learning and classroom skills session, you will receive the official American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider eCard, valid for 2 years.
Doctors, nurses, medical students, dentists, paramedics, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals can attend the AHA BLS Provider Course.
The American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course is approximately 3 hours in duration and is conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Eligible participants will receive the official American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider eCard by email, usually on the next day after successfully completing the classroom skills session. The eCard can also be downloaded from AHA Atlas.

Yes. The AHA BLS Provider Course is conducted in a blended learning format. Participants are required to complete the online cognitive (theory) portion before attending the classroom session.
The in-person class is dedicated to hands-on skills practice, instructor-led training, and skills testing. Participants who have not completed the online cognitive portion will not be eligible to attend the classroom skills session.
The online cognitive (theory) portion of the AHA BLS Course typically takes about 1–2 hours to complete.This can be done using a smart phone, tablet or a computer. The exact time may vary depending on your learning pace and prior knowledge.
